Twibbon: new online awarness raising tool

October 6, 2009

Socially conscious online users are increasingly willing to help raise awareness of causes they personally identify with. The new Twibbon service enables people  to do just that, through both Twitter and Facebook.  A Twibbon is a small logo that social media users can overlay on their profile picture, in effect ‘wearing’ a cause badge/identification online.  A quick review shows that several social media savvy organisations are already putting the service to good use, for example, Breast Cancer Research, has more than 10 000 users displaying a pink ribbon on their profile picture and friends over at IPPF’s 15andcounting campaign have added Twibbon to their supporter toolkit.

Agencies can create and access Twibbons by clicking here.
