Meet M4ID – Selim Özadar

April 24, 2014

Selim Özadar is the communications planner and digital strategist of M4ID who recently joined our team to work on our digital campaigning and mobilization projects.

Prior to M4ID, Selim worked as a social media specialist for the digital advertising agency Wanda Digital in Turkey and in Greenpeace Mediterranean as a part of the new media team.

“Efficient use of online communities for maximum viral effect can be done with low budget. However, an organisation’s digital presence should never be solely about brand promotion, but be focused on people’s needs. As the name suggests, social media is all about people-to-people.”

Recently, Selim was in Cape Town for the World Design Capital project Talkoot Taxi and facilitated workshops for the communities living in segregated townships in Cape Town using participatory design methodologies.

“Design tools can be used to find solutions to social problems. More and more organisations starting to integrate design thinking in the earlier stages of their projects”

Selim has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Visual Communication Design from Istanbul Bilgi University, Turkey, and is soon to graduate from the International Design Business Management master’s degree program from Aalto University, Finland.

Selim is also behind our social media updates –  so, don’t forget to follow M4ID on Instagram for our latest activities!
