Amar holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Product Design from the National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad, India and is finalising his MA studies in Collaborative and Industrial Design.
Amar, how have you evolved as a designer?
“From my childhood I would love to draw and paint and that’s how my interest in design started, I feel my perception of design has evolved over the years and as I have been living / studying / working / traveling in different parts of India & Europe. Being open-minded is something I always try to do but at the same time critical thinking helps to see things from different perspective.
I hope that as a designer, I could contribute to simplifying the complexity that is often associated with healthcare.”
You’re a born and bred Bengali. What does a Helsinki expat miss about Kolkata?
“Sometimes I miss the ease at which you can get things like chai (India tea) at a tea stall. Whenever I feel like eating something spicy, I cook Chicken curry with my mom’s home-made spices.”
