M4ID consolidates its expertise in East Africa
M4ID’s new Kenya-based Programme Manager, Amal Mohamed, looks forward to contributing to the push for better access to sexual and reproductive health in Kenya and Tanzania.
During the past year, M4ID has undergone a remarkable expansion, initiating new programming and adding new competencies to a growing team. Now we are pleased to welcome our Kenya-based Programme Manager, Amal Mohamed, to our team. Amal will support M4ID’s interdisciplinary design and creative communication initiatives, campaigns and projects in Kenya and Tanzania.
Amal hopes that M4ID’s work in East Africa can help bridge the creative sector with practical solutions for health. “East Africa is home to many groundbreaking creative solutions in the fields of mobile money, technology and design. However, design thinking has previously been exclusive to those financially able. To bring human-centred design and creative problem-solving methods to the public health field can be life-changing for patients, and positively disruptive for the overall health sector in this region,” Amal says.
Amal brings significant knowledge of the creative sector and has substantive socio-economic analytical skills from her experience in the fields of law, creative investment, and fund management. She holds an LLB from the University of Reading and is a qualified Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
“I look forward to contributing to the momentum for a push towards better access for sexual and reproductive health in East Africa. The CORE and Plan Right projects seek to make this a reality and that is a really exciting space to work in,” Amal says.
