Google Wave: redefining communication?

October 27, 2009

A few weeks back, Google launched the first test phase of it’s new online collaboration/communication tool Wave, which promises to ‘change the way we communicate’.   Wave has been greeted by some criticisms, and yes, at first glance it is a little confusing: it’s a hybrid of email, web chat, instant messaging, project management software and others,  all in one.

It has great potential, however, as it allows real-time discussion and collaboration, with users able to incorporate text, photos, videos, maps, and more, in to ongoing dialogue.   Check out the developers demo (1h 2o mins) or search YouTube for the hugely popular video showing Wave used Pulp Fiction style (be warned of the language, we haven’t linked it here due to the swearing).  Sign up to give Wave a try here..
